MOBiNET Final Showcase: Exploitation Mobinet Platform and Transition to Commercial Operations

The MOBiNET final event demonstrated the final release of the MOBiNET platform and announced that MOBiNET project partner Dynniq considers the continuation of the platform after the end of the project.

After more than four years, MOBiNET presented its last and final version of the MOBiNET platform. All ten MOBiNET services including the Parking Service and core components such as billing have been verified and validated on the final platform release.

The presentation of the final project results happened through presentations and live demonstrations that highlighted the use and added value of the platform. A number of MOBiNET papers were presented in various technical sessions.

MOBiNET Live demonstrations took place in the congress demonstration area and on the MOBiNET stand (joint Dynniq and MOBiNET stand) where daily MOBiNET final results and components were presented. The presentations highlighted the best use and added value of the platform for use cases RTTI, Parking, Taxi, GLOSA and VoiceInfo. Technical as well as business aspects and related findings were highlighted during the presentations. Each presentation started with an overview of the platform concept and its use via the service demonstration.

Live outdoor demonstrations included the Parking and GLOSA services in cooperation with CO-GISTICS in Dynniq and Géoloc vehicles. The demonstration illustrated the roaming of parking services between a local parking service and two MOBiNET parking services, one from Denmark and the other from Italy, by making use of the Strasbourg open data. MOBiNET functionalities of authentication and service discovery between providers using the same data format, as well as the billing & clearing between business parties were highlighted during the demonstration.

During the ITS Congress, four MOBiNET papers were presented at various technical sessions. The papers presented the business model and contractual framework for implementing a pan-European e-market place of mobility services, Heavy Vehicle Access Control using present C-ITS Standards (with reference to the NonStopTruck use case), the certification approach for ITS data and services marketplace, and the architecture and use cases of the mobility service platform MOBiNET.

A joint press release was issued by MOBiNET partner Dynniq and Project Coordinator ERTICO confirming Dynniq considers the continuation of the MOBiNET platform after the end of the project.
