Ultrahack, 6-8 November, Helsinki, Finland
Venue: Bruno, Helsinki
Ultrahack is the biggest hackathon in Europe and takes place the weekend before Slush, one of the world‘s leading events for start-ups, investors, and media. Ultrahack is a joint innovation effort by a large number of corporate, industry associations, public organisations, and NGO’s and it is targeted to create new businesses and global reach for top software developers.
The Ultrahack hackathon invites both industry and students to participate (as individuals or in teams) and develop innovative software. The eight different challenges or tracks of the hackathon are related to health games, smart cities, mobility services, internet of things, next generation of e-commerce and global charity.
MOBiNET will participate in the Ultrahack by providing its platform as a resource for coders in the “Mobility as a Service – MaaS” track, which focuses on the seamless and agile mobility experiences. Key questions raised for the challenge include: What will be the future user interface for our transport needs? What kind of platform is open enough to link all of our mobility services together? The MaaS track is sponsored by HERE and organised by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications and other partners.
The main prize of the Slush Hacks is 20,000€, while MaaS track prize pool includes a total of €3000 cash prizes, a travel package to ITS European Congress 2016 in Glasgow, including a demo opportunity on MOBiNET stand, and various gifts provided by sponsors.
“The vibrant start-up culture and thriving knowledge-based economy are key elements for the success of Finland, and these kinds of events are needed to advance those issues.” says Ms. Anne Berner, the Minister of Transport and Communications and the Ultrahack Patronne.
So ready, steady, … hack!
